Strong and Resilient Scotland
Capsule collection
The focus of ‘Future Tartan’ was the fabric making. We had to create one outfit, consisting of two garments, one made from the bottom up.
The Scottish themed fabric had to be designed and crafted from three chosen strands about Scotland. I focused on Scottish architecture, myths and legends and clan systems, creating a woven material from scraps, selvages and ribbon. This project was very close to my heart and as a patriotic girl I drew a lot of inspiration from my own life, surroundings and family history.

As this project was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic I was only mid-way through course work and had unfinished garments. I finished my garments at home and carried out the shoot when it was safe to do so with just the photographer and I to keep numbers to a minimum.
