Dystopia
Dystopia is an A/W collection reflecting how the current chaos of society is being embraced. Through the limited power we have of our present circumstances, like-minded people are practicing control in other ways. As survival mode kicks in we are preparing for combat as practitioners of the dark arts. This collection is for the individuals accepting the anarchy and taking back control of their future, representing a global power shift.
Political corruption and propaganda causing ecological and societal disasters present a rising need to shield or protect yourself. Inspired by body armor of the samurai and ninja warriors, and Japanese martial arts, this collection will present a uniform for the rebels, pushing fashion into a more practical realm.
Dystopia will have a dark and gothic appeal while still having a slick, structural foundation, with strong influences of Japanese culture and attire intertwined with a streetwear vibe. Designed to be featured in Rei Kawakubo’s Dover street market, the collection's urban dystopian feel is well suited to the store's dark, structural nature.
